RIP Interface Configuration
This page lets you configure RIP interface parameters. Navigate to the System > RIP > Configuration > Interfaces
menu path.

Parameter descriptions

Interface

Send Version

‘Split Horizon’ prevents routing loops in distance-vector
routing protocols by prohibiting a router from advertising a route back onto the interface from which it was
learned.
Receive Version

Split Horizon Mode
: Enter the

RIP is susceptible to routing loops; it
uses the split horizon mechanism to prevent routing loops from forming.
Auth Type
: Enter the type of authentication to use;
plain text or MD5 authentication
Change Simple Password / Key-Chain Name
: Enter a new simple password and keychain name.
