STARTER INSTALLATION GUIDE:
If you have ordered and received enclosure only and without any IEC devices, read and perform the following steps:
1.) Install the starter of your choice per the instructions accompanying the device and the attached “EPS-10HP-3PST
STARTER MOUNTING” illustrations shown on the following pages. By selecting the proper brand and series, the
illustration will guide in locating a set of specific blind holes to secure the din rail (and spacer if required) to the
back of the box, using supplied flat head fasteners. The numbers on the din rail corresponds to a mounting
location specific to each device and provide a visual guide in locating mounting holes in the box. Utilize supplied
spacer kit for mounting SQ’D / Telemecanique GV2 series starters.
2.) Snap the starter onto the din rail and install two (2) end-blocks on either side of it. DO NOT secure the end-
blocks yet.
3.) Align the device horizontally per measurements on page 5 & 6, using a scale or an accurate ruler with 1/32
graduation markings. Push both end-blocks against the starter. Using a small screw driver and the blocks’
recessed screws, permanently secure them to the din rail.
4.) The factory installed pushbutton operator in cover is set up to interface with the starter, once the cover was
installed on the box.
MAINTENANCE DATA
After installation, this enclosure should be inspected at regular intervals. A visual inspection should ascertain that all
cover bolts are still tight; that all conduit connections are intact and free of corrosion, and that the enclosure mounting
bolts are tight and in good condition.
If the enclosure must be opened for servicing, to check or replace internal devices and apparatus, the following
procedures should be followed:
Loosen cover bolts. Replace any corroded, bent or otherwise damaged bolts with new, factory authorized bolts obtained
from an authorized Larson Electronics distributor. Open enclosure. Do not use hammer, screwdriver or any prying tool to
open cover.
Inspect machined, flame joint flange surfaces. Surfaces must be smooth, free of nicks, scratches, dirt or any foreign
particle build-up that would prevent a proper seal. Should surface be damaged, contact factory. Never attempt to rework
surfaces by sanding, grinding, etc. Surfaces must seat fully against each other to provide a proper explosion-proof joint.
Inspect water exclusion gasket. If gasket is damaged, do not attempt field replacement or repair. Contact a factory
authorized representative for a replacement cover. The damaged gasket can be removed from the cover, and the cover
without gasket can be used until a replacement is obtained. The cover, without gasket, can be safely used in Class I & II
hazardous (classified) locations, however, the enclosure may not be rain-tight or hose-down resistant. Follow Installation
