FIREWOOD
The pieces of wood should have a length of about 30 cm and a
circumference of 20 cm max.
Wood used as fuel must have a moisture content of less than 20%
and is obtained with a drying time of at least one year (soft wood) or 2
years (hardwood) by placing this wood in a dry and ventilated place
(For example under a roof). The damp wood makes ignition more
difficult because more energy is needed to evaporate the present
water. Fresh wood contains about 60% water, so it is not suitable for
burning. Paper and cardboard should only be used for ignition.
9. NON AUTHORIZED FUELS
WARNING: The use of poor pellets that do not
meet the guidelines provided above, damages the
functions of your product and determines the END OF
WARRANTY and the annexed responsibility of the
manufacturer.
It is forbidden to burn: charcoal remains, cuttings, bark,
damp wood or treated with paints, plastic materials,
waste: in this case the warranty on the appliance will be
void.
When using a low quality fuel the stove could possibly work not
properly and can lead the guarantee to decline and the responsibility
for the product. When burning low quality pellet you will have:
Shorter cleaning intervals, Higher fuel consumption, Lower output,
The glass is getting quickly dirty, The fire pot and the exhaust smoke
connection will clog up rapidly
10. INSTALLATION
The installation of pellet appliances in Italy must be made in
accordance with Italian standard UNI10683 in force at the date of
preparation of this manual. All local, regional, and prescriptive
regulations must also be respected.
Checks to be made beforehand:
- Is the chimney suitable for receiving combustion products (fumes)
compatible with the specifications and characteristics of the
appliance?
- Has the distance from combustible materials been respected?
- Does the back wall of the appliance comply with the regulations in
force and with the requirements of the manufacturer of the appliance?
- Is the outside air in the dimensions indicated and connected to the
appliance?
- Is the floor space sufficient for the weight of the appliance?
11. LOCATION OF THE PRODUCT
The fuel floor (parquet type) must be protected with special flame-
retardant plates (stainless steel, marble, tiles, etc.) to protect it from
radiant heat and the possible combustion of hot residues from
opening the door. Minimum distances from combustible materials
should be respected according to the requirements here indicated or
in the technical data sheet The chimney must be at least 50 cm away
from heat-sensitive building elements or flammable materials (wood
cladding, beams or ceilings, etc.)
The appliance must be installed on a floor of adequate load capacity.
If the existing construction does not meet this requirement,
appropriate measures (ex: load distribution plate) should be taken.
The installation of the appliance must ensure easy access to the
cleaning and maintenance of the appliance itself, the exhaust ducts
and the chimney.
Minimum distances from flammable materials:
A = 29 cm (Distance from the back)
B = 34 cm (Distance from side walls)
C = 100 cm (Distance from the glass of the appliance)
D = 60 cm (a protective plate of the floor made of flammable material)
E = 11 cm (Distance from inflammable floor)
F = 60 cm (distance from door to rear wall, OBLIGATORY)
These measures can be reduced (except the
distance of point F) using insulating materials. Refer to
the technical data sheet of the insulating product that
you will use to comply with local and national
regulations.
Keep all flammable material like wooden furniture,
curtains, carpets and flammable fluids at least 100 cm
from the appliance when operating.
COATING: AIR INTAKES AND INSPECTION DOOR
The coating must be self-supporting and fire-retardant (pharmacel,
lafarge) and can not be in contact with the appliance (leave at least 5
mm of air between the cladding and the frame of the fireplace door).
We also recommend to insulate the hood internally with Firerock
panels (30 mm stone wool insulation panels coupled to an aluminum
sheet, aluminum side towards the monoblock) respecting a minimum
distance from the appliance of 3 cm.
It is mandatory to always guarantee a minimum entry
and exit ventilation in the cladding as shown in the
following diagram:
