Normal Mode
In
Normal
mode, if no valid triggers occur the waveform is not updated and
‘No trig’ is shown at the top of the display. The last waveform that triggered
the instrument is kept on the screen until the signal next crosses the trigger
level in the specified direction.
Once the meter has triggered and displayed a waveform, the captured
waveform is kept on the display until the next trigger occurs. This gives the
user the ability to see and measure short pulses that might occur infrequently.
Normal mode often gives a clearer display than Auto mode especially if the
pulses to be observed are infrequent or sporadic.
Manual Mode
In either of the above trigger modes the signal capture can be started and
stopped by p
ressing the ACQ button (0), see ‘Start Acquisition’ above.
