CAUTION!

Loss of control may occur when breaking in an emergency (pressing the foot pedal
from full reverse to full forward, or vice versa).

Training is required.

Release the parking brake. Verify that the parking brake is off before attempting any travel
with the Lastec Mower.

Following are the proper steering procedures:

To travel forward:

Press the foot pedal forward. The farther the foot pedal is

pressed, the faster the Lastec Mower travels. Use the cruise control feature to auto-
matically control the speed of the mower.

See Section 4.6

 for information on cruise

control settings.

To travel in reverse:

Press the foot pedal backward. The farther the foot pedal is

pressed, the faster the Lastec Mower travels.

To turn to the right:

Turn the steering wheel clockwise slowly.

To turn to the left:

Turn the steering wheel counterclockwise slowly.

To obtain a zero turn radius (ZTR) to the right

: Put the steering lock pin in the

180 or 360 degrees position and turn the steering wheel clockwise slowly.

See Sec-

tion 4.7

for more information on steering lock setting.

To obtain a zero turn radius (ZTR) to the left

: Put the steering lock pin in the 180

or 360 degrees position and turn the steering wheel counterclockwise slowly.

See

Section 4.7

for more information on steering lock setting.

To stop:

Release the foot pedal to the neutral position.

To change directions:

Slowly release the foot pedal to the neutral position, and

allow the Lastec Mower to slow to a stop. Then slowly turn the steering wheel to
travel in the desired direction.

NOTE: When the foot pedal is released, it automatically returns (slowly) to the neu-
tral position, stopping all motion of the Lastec Mower.
