6.
If adjustments are needed on the cen-
ter deck, use the center turnbuckle on
the deck lift assemblies to level the
deck front-to-back. Tolerances for
front-to-back is positive 1/8 inch in the
rear -- the rear should never be lower
than the front edge. Be sure to
retighten the jam nuts on the turn-
buckle after leveling the deck.
NOTE:
On the 73in deck, the rear deck
hangers are also adjustable. Hangers
should have the same tension on both
sides before adjusting the main turn-
buckle. Adjust the eyebolt until the ten-
sion is even on both hangers, then
snug down the jam nut.
7.
When the center deck is level, check
each side deck for levelness.
8.
Inspect the hanger rod to make sure
the urethane bushings are snug, but
not overly tight. Do not use these
hangers for adjustment purposes.
9.
Raise or lower the deck by means of
the small turnbuckle. Be sure to
retighten the jam nuts on the turn-
buckle after leveling the deck
10. Units with serial number prior to
34660609 only:
Set the anti-scalp
wheels with the turnbuckle at your “typi-
cal” cutting height, + 1/4 to 1/2 inch. The
factory setting is approximately 1 inch,
and should be readjusted to meet your
needs. Do not allow the anti-scalp roller
to be on the ground constantly or it will
result in premature wear. Be sure to
retighten the jam nuts on the turnbuckle
after setting the wheel.
