Observing additional operating instructions
Additional interface modules can be fitted to the device. Before installing
and using interface modules, always read and observe the operating manual
accompanying the relevant interface module.
1.6
Limits of the device
1.6.1 Usage limits
n
The process thermostat and the high-temperature thermostat may only
be used for the temperature control and circulation of flammable and
non-flammable heat transfer liquids in a closed circuit. The heat transfer
liquid is pumped through a hose to the external closed application and
flows through a hose back into the thermostat. The heat transfer liquids
and hoses to be used are listed in this operating manual.
The following are considered examples of unintended use:
n
Medical applications
n
Use in hazardous areas
n
Use for controlling the temperature of foodstuffs
n
Operation with a glass reactor without gage pressure protection
n
Connection to a non-closed hydraulic circuit
n
Outdoor installation
The following are considered cases of foreseeable misuse:
n
Operating the device without heat transfer liquid
n
Operating the device with an unsuitable heat transfer liquid
n
Connecting hoses incorrectly
n
Electrical energy (each device)
n
Cooling water (required for water-cooled process thermostats and high-
temperature thermostats)
n
See the Technical Data chapter
1.6.2 Environmental and operating conditions
The device may only be used in the following areas:
n
Production, quality assurance, research and development in an industrial
environment
n
Only used inside buildings
n
Use up to a height of 2,000 m above sea level
