Do not smoke, do not approach open fl ames, do not use emery wheels and welding machines; in any
case, do not cause sparks near the batteries .
•
Do not draw current from the battery with clamps, plugs and provisional contacts .
•
Make sure that all connections (wire terminals, plugs, sockets, etc .) are tightened correctly and in good
working conditions .
•
Do not place metal tools on the battery .
•
Keep the battery clean and dry, possibly with the use of anti-static cloths .
•
Top-up with distilled water every time the electrolyte level drops to 5 - 10 mm from the splash-guard .
•
Avoid charging it too much it and keep the battery temperature below 45°C .
•
Keep any centralized topping-up systems in perfect working order by performing periodic maintenance .
•
The risk of electrocution and short circuiting; for safety, before carrying out any maintenance or repairs
on the batteries (or the machine), disconnect the +/- clamps from the battery poles .
•
The risk of explosion during charging; this may occur if you attempt to use an unsuitable battery charger
(based on the Amperes of the battery) .
•
While charging the battery, or, nevertheless, when the battery charger plug is plugged in, it is forbidden
to turn the machine on and it is forbidden to move it (including manually) .
•
In case of accidental liquid spill from the batteries due to any reason, stem the leakages with absorbent
material and wear acid-proof safety gloves, safety glasses and acid suit before having consulted battery
manual .
CHAPTER 10 - CHECKS BEFORE IGNITION
Read the instructions booklet, attached herein, for the motor carefully, and
always:
1 - Check the motor oil level, and top up if low.
2 - Fill up with fuel.
IMPORTANT: the fuel container must be suitable for this purpose and clean. This will
ensure that the fuel fi lter and carburetor are always clean. Keep out of the reach of
children.
CHAPTER 11 - IGNITION AND STOP
BEFORE PROCEEDING IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE READ ALL OF THE PREVIOUS
CHAPTERS.
IMPORTANT: To start up the machine you must be seated in the driver’s seat. If the
operator is not seated, or if he/she stands up once the machine has been switched on,
it will switch off.
IGNITION:
•
Place the accelerator lever in the middle position Detail 7 Fig. 11 .
•
Turn the ignition key clockwise, past the fi rst notch Detail 6 Fig.11. At the fi rst notch, the battery LED
Detail 4 Fig. 11 is turned on (otherwise the battery is not suffi ciently charged).
•
Once the motor is running, let go of the ignition key and adjust the rpm from the accelerator lever Detail
7 Fig. 11 . It is advisable to let the motor warm up at minimum rpm for a few minutes before starting
