Powering On & Checking the System
Compact Engine (front view)
The control surface and Compact Engine have no on/off switch but start automatically when power is applied.
The components can be powered in any order.
Let’s assume that you turn on both devices:
·
You will see an initial flicker of LEDs on the control surface modules.
·
On the Compact Engine, you will see the boot-up progress on the front panel display.
·
As soon as boot-up is complete, the display shows the device's IP address, and the system run LED (to
the right of the RS422 connector) begins to flash at regular intervals.
If the system run LED does not start to blink, then the Compact Engine has an internal problem. Please try a
as a first step.
At the end of the boot-up, the system loads the state of all settings at the last shut down (known as the warm
start data). This means that when you turn on, you will get back to wherever you were at the last power off.
The hardware components are now ready to be configured - this takes approximately 20 seconds from power
on.
Please note
: if you perform a cold start, then the system ignores the warm start data and resets to the
default values stored in the configuration.
