Synchronization (PTP)
A crystal standard configuration system will automatically use the highest prioritized sync source (if a valid
signal is present): MADI, Wordclock, AES3 or internal clock. Note that the MADI option actually means PTP,
due to the internal workings of the system.
RAVENNA Web UI (Default Media Settings)
Two global PTP modes are possible: Master / Slave mode, and Slave Only mode.

For most installations, Lawo recommends Slave Only mode. In this mode, the RAVENNA IO Card works
in conjunction with an external PTP grandmaster clock. This mode is required for any installation where
RAVENNA port redundancy with automatic failover switching is desired.

Master / Slave mode is provided as a convenience for users with no more than two consoles and a few
RAVENNA devices. In this mode, the RAVENNA IO Card supplies its own clock sync. RAVENNA port
redundancy is not available in this mode.
