Setting the Time Zone
The time zone can be edited by opening a telnet session to the Compact Engine.
1.
Open a
to the crystal standard configuration system.
2.
Once login is complete, type "
chparm -tz
" (press ENTER).
3.
Select option
1
(press ENTER).
4.
When prompted, enter the new time zone rule and press ENTER.
The time zone should be specified relative to Central European Time (CET).
For example, "CET+5CEST,M3.2.0/2:00,M11.1.0/2:00" is suitable for US East Coast, where CET is 5 hours
ahead.
The second part of the syntax specifies the start and end of Central European Summer Time (CEST). e.g. from
month 3, week 2, day 0, time 2am (the second Sunday in March) until month 11, week 1, day 0, time 2am (the
first Sunday in November).
5.
You are asked to confirm so type "
Y
" to confirm (press ENTER).
The syntax is case sensitive, so be sure to enter a capital Y. You will see the following messages if the new rule
has been accepted.
Telnet: set time zone
6.
Now type "
chparm -restart
" followed by "
YES
" to confirm.
The Compact Engine restarts and so the telnet window closes. The new time zone is loaded at the end of the
restart. You can check the new settings from the Web UI (via the
page).
