Radio automation
The serial interface (RS422) at the Central Board of the
System Unit allows to connect a radio automation system.
This is an easy way to hand over the faderstart functions of
the console to the system, to activate a fader
automatically with starting a playlist or to use one of the
many special functions (programme switch, redlight,
unoccupied cycle time, etc.) in the context of console and
radio automation.
Activating these features requires the programming of the
source names which have to be exactly the same in the
zirkon system and the radio automation. With starting the
radio automation, the system occupies these sources on
the mixing console. From this time on the radio
automation controls these channel strips and cooperates
with the user on the control panel.
The actual functions of the radio automation depend very
strongly on the radio automation system. Partly, the
functions are restricted to faderstart, other systems
control even the programme switch.
The serial protocol is available on request.
