Waste Handling Process
The waste handling process in a 2R-III™ rear-loader garbage truck is a three-step process: 1. loading;
2. packing; 3. unloading. Take a look at the following illustrations. They will help you understand how
these steps relate to one another.
Loading
Refuse is first loaded into the hopper of the tailgate
assembly. The carrier and packer panels, which
sweep up and pack the refuse from the hopper, will be in the
“home” position.
Packing
When the operator starts the packing cycle, the carrier and packer panels move rearward over the
load.
Next, the carrier and packer panels automatically stop at the “interrupted cycle” position.
