To configure the PHY display settings, press
STATUS SETUP on the mode menu.

Select the signal to use as the frequency measurement reference. If you select
EXT-SYNC, select the format on the GENERAL tab in the system settings, and apply
an external reference signal to the EXT REF INPUT connector on the rear panel.
