2.4.3
In case of fire, the fire extinguishers of the respective carrier device shall be used.
The operating personnel shall inform themselves about the location of these fire
extinguishers before starting work. Fire extinguishers are subject to meticulous
inspection intervals, which shall be complied with under any circumstances.
2.4.4
Where, for technical reasons, maintenance and repair work cannot be carried out
when the machine is shut down, precautions shall be taken which are suitable to
enable safe working.
In such cases the safety of the person carrying out the work shall be monitored by a
second person who must have immediate access to an emergency stop switch.
Communication between these two persons must be ensured.
2.4.5
When performing erection or installation work above body height, access equipment
and working platforms to be provided for such purposes or otherwise ensuring safety.
2.4.6
When performing electric welding operations, disconnect the battery of the power
pack or the crane – first the negative terminal, then the positive terminal.
When reconnecting the battery, connect the positive terminal first.
Always attach the welding ground wire to the component to be welded in the
vicinity of the welding area!
Before any welding is done near heat-sensitive components, these components must
either be removed or be shielded from exposure to heat.
WARNING
Electric lines or hydraulic hoses that have been damaged during welding must
be replaced immediately
.
