NOVOLAS Basic AT Safety Devices
The following safety devices are provided with the NOVOLAS Basic AT.
•
Laser safety interlock (Laser safety)
•
Laser enable key switch
•
Emergency stop button
Safety device functions are described as follows.
2.3.1 Laser safety interlock (external)
See chapter 4.2 for connection detail. The laser safety interlock will securely avoid
laser emission by shorting and disconnecting the laser diode from the supply current
unless the laser safety interlock is unblocked. Unblocking is accomplished by closing
the two electrical interlock circuits independently. The operability of the interlock is
being checked at every activation of the system. The interval of this check may be
configured differntly, according to the requirements of the customer.
2.3.2 Laser enable key switch (internal)
The laser enable key switch must be activated in order to operate the laser modules.
Disabling the key switch will disconnect the current sources from the mains supply
and block the laser safety switches.
2.3.3 Emergency stop button (internal and external)
See chapter 4.2.1 for connection details. The activation of the laser emergency stop
will immediately intercept the energy distribution to the laser current sources, block
the laser safety switches and stop operation of the cooler (On request, this can be
adapted by Leister Service Personal). After an emergency stop the laser safety stop
has to be released and the reset button has to be pushed in order to start the system
again.
2.3.4 Laser Warning device
The commisioning of the system may only be done after installation of a laser warning
device conforming to EN60825-1.
