System Description

From the above mentioned diagrams, it can be seen that the laser units build the
central part of the system. The laser units contain a current source and alternatively a
laser head or a laser module with an attached optics head. The surrounding modules
support the operation of the laser unit. The central cooler assures the cooling of the
laser diodes. The Customer I/O builds the interface to the surrounding customer
specific environment. The System Master is responsible for the configuration and
integrity checks during setup and the surveillance of the system during operation. The
NOVOLAS Basic AT control module contains the 24V DC power supply, the
emergency stop circuitry, the Ethernet switch, control switches and other common
parts to make the modules work. All this is assembled in a standard 19” rack.
