System States
The NOVOLAS Basic AT possesses the following states:
•
System not started
•
System Initialization
•
System Ready
•
System Error
When main power is applied to the NOVOLAS Basic AT the system is in not started
state. After about 45 seconds, the System Master starts its programs and the system
is set in initialization state. The System Master communicates with the cooler and
waits until the cooling liquid temperature will be lower than 23°C. After that, the
System Master sets all other modules to initialization state. The Ready-state will be
entered, when the laser modules are cooled down. If Error State is reached, the
system can only be reset by powering down and up the whole system.
Each individual laser unit (module) has additional states:
•
Laser Unit Not Started
•
Laser Unit Initializing
•
Laser Unit Ready
•
Laser Unit Ready Inactive
•
Laser Unit Ready Active
•
Laser Unit Error
The Laser Unit Ready state will persists until the reset button is pressed, and
therefore the current sources are powered up. The laser unit enters then Laser Unit
Ready Inactive.
The laser unit goes into Laser Unit Ready Active state when the gates and trigger
signals are active and the interlock is unblocked. The interlock is unblocked by closing
both interlock circuits independently.
The Laser Unit Error state will be entered when an error state of one of the laser
units modules is detected, which will not interfere with the whole system.
You will find a Signal scheme for an example of a typical integration in chapter 5.5.1
of this manual.
