Operation
6.3.2 Activating the Laser (Register 3)
The above setting influences the current setting. They will not activate the laser or
start a profile, however. Enabling of the laser will depend on the values in registers 2
and 3. Furthermore, for the laser to be activated, the key-switch for the laser has to be
active and the interlock needs to be unlocked.
Gate Option
The Gate Option is active, if Bit 0 in register 2 is set. If the Gate Option is active, the
laser driver can only supply current to the laser diode, if the corresponding “Gate laser
unit#X” input on the Customer I/O is active.

A profile is started, if the trigger input on the Customer I/O is
transiting from inactive to active. Profile ends if the Trigger
input is deactivated.
6.3.3 On-Off Temperature Regulator (Register 1 and 6)
If the system is equipped with a pyrometer, the pyrometer value can be used as a
feedback signal. The value of bit 0 in Register 1 defines, whether the pyrometer raw
values (bit 0=0) or the factory calibrated values (bit 0 =1) are used. An on-off regulator
is implemented. The switching temperature value must be written to Register 6. The
regulator is activated by writing the values 2 or 3 to register 1. The regulator is
deactivated by writing values 0 or 1 to register 1.
The regulator modifies the preset current as follows:
If the measured temperature value is higher than the switching value (register 6), the
current will be reduced to the threshold value of the laser module. If the measured
temperature is lower than the switching value, the preset current will be delivered.
