Switching off the NOVOLAS Basic AT
Make sure that the laser-unit's interlocks are opened and that the analogue or digital
current set is set to 0. Switch off the system by switching off the mains switch.
6.5
Behaviour during operations
The system is continuously running self-diagnosis.
Temperature monitoring
The following temperatures are monitored:
•
Cooling liquid flow in the cooler.
•
Temperature of the laser module
If the cooler temperature is too high, the system goes into Error state and can only be
restarted by a power down and up cycle. If one of the laser units registers an error,
the appropriate error signal on the Customer I/O is set and the laser units remains in
Error state, until the temperature reaches an acceptable level again.
Interlock monitoring
The interlock circuit is tested every time the interlock is closed by the operator. Each
function is tested by software and the channels are checked for cross shortage.
Use non-bouncing switches. If the switches are bouncing, the self-test could be
disturbed. If a self-test fails, the system will be disabled for about 1 second. After this
time span, the self-test will be repeated. After 5 consecutive failures, the laser unit will
go into Error state.
