Skim Filter

Proper care and cleaning of your spa filter is very important to the
enjoyment of your spa. The filter is designed to remove emerged debris
and contaminants, providing clear clean water for the bather. The most
important maintenance step is to establish a cleaning routine to fit your
use pattern. Heavy use and introduction of contaminants such as oily
body lotions could mean cleaning on a weekly basis while average use
might require only monthly cleaning.

First turn off the electric power at both the spa console and either
the G.F.C.I. plug disconnect “Test” button or at the remote load
center disconnect switch.

1. Open Weir Door

2. Remove Front Filter Plate

3. Remove Basket

4. Unscrew Filter Cartridge

(Turn counter clockwise)

5. Remove filter

For re-installation follow steps 1-5 in reverse

order and insert basket as shown

Cleaning your Filter Cartridge is Critical to Equipment Performance

As the filter cartridge collects sediment, debris and other water borne contaminants it begins to clog and restrict spa water circulation.  As this restriction
increases, water flow decreases. The low circulation rate automatically activates the flow meter sensor designed  to protect the spa’s sensitive equipment
which shuts the spa down. Proper care adds to cartridge life. Improper care shortens cartridge life.

Cleaning a Filter Cartridge

As required, remove the cartridge. Rinse thoroughly with a garden hose set with the water stream adjusted to mid-range velocity. Take care to rinse the
individual cartridge pleats. This process should be repeated as needed or on a bi-weekly basis.

Filter Cartridge Cleaners

As required or on a quarterly basis, the cartridge should be cleaned with a commercial chemical cleaner in accordance with the instructions on the
container.
