Chapter 8: ENC/ENS/ENX-6801/M Encoder Modules and Accessories
Installation
The ENC/ENS/ENX-6801 modules are designed to operate in an
ambient temperature range of 0° to 40° C. No special provisions for
cooling are necessary, but care should be taken to prevent excessive heat
rise in closed, unventilated equipment racks.
The ENC/ENX-6801 modules can be installed in either a 1RU FR-6801,
an FR-7001 frame, or a 2RU FR-6804(-1) frame. The ENS-6801 module
can only be installed in an FR-6804(-1) frame. When installed in the
FR-7001 frame, an ENC/S/X-6801-M back module is required. When
installed in the FR-680X frame, a back panel overlay is required. For
loop-through genlock input, a T-adaptor can be used because the
reference inputs are high impedance. (A T-adaptor with 75
Ω
termination is required for terminating inputs.)
Figure 8-1.
Back Module and Overlay
For PAL-M reference input, use
625 genlock input connection.
Before connecting the
ENC-6801 module to primary
power, check (and if necessary,
set) the input voltage selector
switch on the rear panel to
match the local line voltage.
