Frame Buffer
The frame buffer is analogous to a bit bucket with the input signal never
overfilling or running slow enough to allow the bit bucket to empty and
having a steady output at all times. The delay through the frame buffer
will always be somewhere around a frame. If the bit bucket (i.e. frame
buffer) overfills or empties, there will be a frame “slip”.
Line Buffer
The line buffer is analogous to a tiny bit bucket with the input signal
possibly overfilling or not being able to fill up this tiny bit bucket. The
delay will always be around a line. If the line buffer overfills or empties,
there will be a line “slip”.
