6800/7000 Series - Audio and Video Multi/Demultiplexing Products Installation and Operation Manual

General Issues

If the VTS is used as a back-up switcher or as a clean-switch router, the
External Analog Reference should be used as the board reference.

If the VTS is used as a back-up switcher, a certain amount of noise on the
PGM inputs will be rejected. The PGM output will switch back and forth
between the primary video input and the secondary video input, if the
primary signal is intermittently noisy.

The VTS processes the video sync information on the PGM inputs to
prevent the PGM outputs from failing under moderately noisy
conditions.

If the PGM inputs contain illegal data during the active picture area, the
VTS will legalize the video data.
