There are nine levels of squelch setting; the default
level is 2.

Step is the value in which the operating frequency
increases or decreases with presses of the “▲▼” keys
in VFO mode. Select the Step in Menu 41. Valid step
sizes are 2.5, 5, 6.25, 10, 12.5, and 25 KHz. The
default is 25 KHz.

The Tail elimination function eliminates the burst of
background noise encountered at the end of a
transmission. . Set Menu 42 to ON if you would like
to enable this feature, or OFF to disable it. The default
is ON.

)
When the Talk around feature is enabled, the transmit
and receive frequency and signaling mode are the
same. This would be useful if two stations who are
close together wish to temporarily use the output
frequency of a repeater. Turn Menu 43 ON to enable
this feature. The default is OFF.
