An incorrect adjustment should be put right as follows:
• There is a difference between the degree of opening of the
LH and RH gate of a feed bowl.
- Centre the shutter on the feed bowl by tightening a bolt
of the bracket A (fig. 26) on one side of the bowl and by
untightening the bolt on the other side to the same extent.
• The gates in the LH feed bowl are open farther/less far than
those of the RH bowl.
- Establish which shutter shows the largest gap in respect
of the required opening at position 3B. Then align this
shutter with the shutter of the other feed bowl by means
of the long control rod B (fig. 26). The short control rod
should always be adjusted at a length of 130 mm.
• Both gates are opened to the same extent, but at position 3B
the shutters are not on a par with the points of the feed
gates.
- Untighten the bolt C (fig. 26) of the calibration scale.
- First, close the gates and open the shutters until they are
on a par with the points in the feed gates (fig. 25).
- Place the round end of the locking pin in hole 3B.
- Turn the calibration scale until the locking pin hits the
indicator (fig. 24).
- Tighten the calibration scale.
- Check the working and adjustment of the slip clutch
(see fig. 23) as follows:
- Untighten the nuts of the compression springs.
- Rotate the slip clutch a few times in respect of the PTO
shaft.
- Tighten the nuts evenly until the springs are totally
compressed.
- Loosen each of the nuts by one full turn.
