Cold Climate Considerations
Select a location where high winds and snow will not
affect the unit. In areas where typical ambient tem
-
peratures are below 50°F (10°C), the following pre
-
cautions should be observed.
• Locate unit away from overhanging roof lines
which would allow water or ice to drop on, or in
front of, coil or into unit.

NOTE -
Snow guards are recommended on both sides
and rear of the unit as shown in this example.
• The unit base should be elevated above the
depth of average snows plus 12 in. (305 mm). In
heavy snow areas, do not locate the unit where
drifting will occur.
