DSA creates a DSA log, which is a chronologically ordered merge of the system-event log (as the IPMI
event log), the integrated management module (IMM) chassis-event log (as the ASM event log), and the
operating-system event logs. You can send the DSA log as a file to IBM service or view the information as
a text file or HTML file.
DSA Preboot offers the following diagnostic tests of your server:
– Microprocessor
– Memory
– IMM I

Use this information to diagnose ServerGuide problems and suggested actions.
The following table lists problem symptoms and suggested solutions.

ServerGuide Setup and
Installation
CD will not start.
• Make sure that the CD drive is associated with the blade server that you are
configuring.
• Make sure that the blade server supports the ServerGuide program and has a
bootable CD (or DVD) drive.
• If the startup (boot) sequence settings have been changed, make sure that the CD
drive is first in the startup sequence.
The ServerGuide program will
not start the operating-system
CD.
Make sure that the operating-system CD is supported by the ServerGuide program.
