Optical drive
Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the “Read
this first: Important safety information” on page iii.
For some computer models, the optical-drive bay might be installed with a device such as an optical drive, a
5.25-inch flex module, a front access storage enclosure, a slim optical drive adapter, or a multi-drive
Conversion Kit.
This section provides instructions on how to install or replace an optical drive. For any other device in the
optical-drive bay, the installation or replacement procedure is similar.
To install or replace an optical drive, do the following:
1. Prepare your computer. See “Preparing your computer and removing the computer cover” on page 57.
2. Remove the front bezel. See “Front bezel” on page 58.
3. Press the release tab
