System requirements
Before using the WiDi adapter, ensure that your notebook computer meets the following
hardware and software requirements.
Hardware:
Requirements for connecting the WiDi adapter by the Intel
®
Wireless Display
program
Your notebook computer comes with the Intel microprocessor, Intel Graphics Processing
Unit (GPU), and Intel wireless network card.
You can achieve a better performance when your notebook computer comes with the
following Intel wireless network cards: Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7260, Intel Dual-Band
Wireless-N 7260, Intel Dual-Band Wireless-AC 7265, or Intel Dual-Band Wireless-N
7265.
Requirements for connecting the WiDi adapter by the operating system
Your notebook computer must be preinstalled with the Windows 8.1 or Windows 10
operating system.
Note:
If your computer is upgraded to the Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 operating system,
your computer may not support the WiDi adapter.
Software:
Update the following to the latest version from the Lenovo Support Web site
http://www.lenovo.com/support
or by running the ThinkVantage
®
System Update program
if installed.
GPU driver
Wireless network card driver
Intel Wireless Display program (version 5 or later).
Connecting your computer to the WiDi adapter
Connect your notebook computer to the WiDi adapter through the Intel Wireless Display
(Intel WiDi) program or through the options provided by the operating system (Windows
8.1 and Windows 10 only).
You can download or update the Intel WiDi program at http://www.lenovo.com/support.
Type your computer model in
Enter product name
field to go to the Web page for your
product. On the
Downloads
tab, use the drop-down list boxes or keyword box to help you
search Intel Wireless Display or Intel WiDi.
