Remove the PCI slot filler, if installed. Keep the filler in a safe place for potential future use.

Incomplete insertion might cause damage to the system board or the adapter.

Perform any configuration tasks that are required for the adapter.
If you have other devices to install or remove, do so now.
Installing an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module
Use this information to install an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module.
Read the safety information in “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on page 35.
If you are replacing a server component in the server, you need to turn off the server and peripheral devices,
and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
To install an optional ServeRAID adapter memory module, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Unlock and remove the left-side cover (see “Removing the left-side cover” on page 40).
