2. Press the new system fan straight down until it is seated into place.

Ensure that you install the system fan in the correct direction as shown.

ThinkServer Trusted Platform Module
The ThinkServer Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a security chip designed by the Trusted Computing Group
(TCG) to provide a hardware method of data encryption. It stores passwords, encryption keys, and digital
certificates to help provide security solutions and protect the server.

Removing the TPM
To remove the TPM, do the following:
1. Prepare your server. See “Preparing your server in advance” on page 47.
2. Locate the TPM connector on the system board. See “System board components” on page 25.
3. If there is a PCIe card installed, it might block your access to the TPM connector. In this case, remove
the PCIe card. See “Removing the PCIe card” on page 56.
