Step 8.
Connect the signal and power-configuration cables to the backplane and the system board. See
“3.5-inch hard disk drive cable connection” on page 146 for more information.
Step 9.
Reinstall the hard disk drives and filler panels (see “Replacing a simple-swap hard disk drive” on
page 162).
Step 10. Replace the fan cage assembly and fans if you removed them (see “Replacing the fan cage
assembly” on page 179 and “Replacing a hot-swap fan” on page 181).
Step 11. Install the top cover (see “Replacing the top cover” on page 151).
Step 12. Slide the server into the rack.
Step 13. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
Step 14. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
Removing a USB embedded hypervisor flash device
Use this information to remove a USB embedded hypervisor flash device.
To remove a USB hypervisor flash device, complete the following steps:
Step 1.
Read the safety information that begins on “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on
page 297.
Step 2.
Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords.
Step 3.
Remove the top cover (see “Removing the top cover” on page 149).
Step 4.
Grasp the flash device and pull to remove it from the connector.
