10.4 Piece counting
You can enter the PIECE COUNTING MODE by pressing the key
&.
In this mode the respective status annunciator will switch ON .
Pressing this key again will get you back to the WEIGHING MODE .
Piece counting can be effected in 2 ways
Piece counting by sampling
Piece counting by entering the average piece weight

Piece counting by sampling – Function 51
First you have to determine the average piece weight. This is done with the method of sampling.
You have to put a small sample on the scale (i.e. a known quantity of items), weigh this sample
and enter the known number of pieces that comprise the sample (sample size). The indicator
divides the weight of the sample with the number of pieces and stores the average piece weight in
its memory .

Sample size should not be higher than 99 or less than 5 and sample weight
Piece counting procedure
1. If the sample is stored in a container, tare the scale first
2. Put the sample on the scale
3. Press key

and keep pressed for about 3sec
4. Display shows
F n 0 0
. Type in the number 51, using key

to increment the flashing digit
and key
>
to move one digit to the right
5. Press key
(
to accept the value
6. The display shows
P C S X X
7. Type in the sample size and press
(
8. The indicator calculates the average piece weight and stores it in its memory
9. The display shows the number of items that comprise your sample.
10. The indicator is already in the piece counting mode – Status annunciator

11. Add an unknown quantity of items on the scale
12. The display shows the number of pieces
To exit the piece counting mode and return to the weighing mode, press key
