Advancing in the menus and menu items, and selecting
and saving values
Press and release Cancel to scroll through menus and menu items.
Press and release Continue to advance to the value you need.
Press and hold Continue until all of the lights cycle to save a value.
To return to the Home menu, press and hold Cancel until all of the lights cycle.
Exiting the menus
To exit the menus, turn the printer off.
Menus overview
Utilities menu
Use the Utilities menu to print information about available printer resources, printer settings, and print
jobs. Other menu items let you set up printer hardware and troubleshoot printer problems.
Reset Factory Defaults
Purpose: To return your printer settings to the factory default values. All menu items are returned to
the factory default values except:
•
Display Language.
•
All settings in the Parallel menu, Serial menu, Network menu, Infrared menu, LocalTalk menu,
and USB menu.
All downloaded resources (fonts, macros, and symbol sets) in printer memory (RAM) are deleted.
(Resources residing in flash memory or on the hard disk are unaffected.)

Hex Trace
Purpose: To help isolate the source of a print job problem. With Hex Trace selected, all data sent to
the printer is printed in hexadecimal and character representation. Control codes are not executed.
To exit Hex Trace, turn the printer off or reset the printer from the Job menu available through Printer
Job Language (PJL). For information about PJL commands, refer to the Technical Reference.
