Lubrication 1
The side rod ends should be lubri-
cated occasionally with a small
amount of LGB Maintenance Oil
(50019).
Cleaning 1
This model can be cleaned exter-
nally using a mild detergent and
gentle stream of water. Do not
immerse this model.
Replacing the light bulbs 1
Lanterns (lower front): Pull the
lantern housing away from the
model. Remove and replace the
bulb.
Lanterns (upper front): Pull the
lantern forward to remove it from
the smokebox. Carefully pull on
the cable to remove the light bulb
from the lantern housing. Remove
and replace the bulb.
Lanterns (rear): Remove the
screw holding the lantern on the
body. Pull off the lantern. Remove
and replace the bulb.
Cab light: Using tweezers, remo-
ve and replace the bulb.
Replacing the smoke
generator 2
- Turn the smoke generator and
pull it from the model (Fig. 4).
- Cut the wires to the old genera-
tor and attach them to the repla-
cement generator (Fig. 5).
- Insulate the connections and
push the replacement generator
into the stack (Fig. 6).
Replacing the motor
If the motor needs to be replaced,
contact your retailer or an LGB
Service Station (see Authorized
Service).
Attention! If the motor is repla-
ced, generously lubricate the
gears with LGB Gear Lubricant
(51020).
Attention! Make sure that the
drive rods do not bind. Binding
can cause serious damage to the
model.
Replacing the brushes, pick-up
shoes or wheelsets
If the brushes, pick-up shoes or
wheelsets need to be replaced,
contact your retailer or an LGB
Service Station (see Authorized
Service).
Attention! If the wheelsets are
removed, generously lubricate
the gears with LGB Gear Lubri-
cant (51020).
