All maintenance should be conducted by a Liberty Healthcare authorised technician or at their
discretion an authorised dealer or repair technician.
Switch off mains power and disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet before inspecting
the chair.
It is recommended that the following routine inspection and cleaning procedures be routinely
conducted every 12 months.

Inspect all castors to ensure the locking mechanism locks and releases when activated, and they are
free from any dirt or debris.
Inspect the chair frame and welds for any, rust spots, cracks, damage or excessive wear and tear.
Inspect all bolts and screws to ensure they are correctly tensioned.
Check all chair functions are operating correctly.
Ensure all chair functions operate without excessive noise, and motor performance is optimal.
Inspect all power cords for fraying, cuts or excessive wear and tear. Ensure all power cords are not
strained and are not at risk of becoming entangled in any moving mechanisms or castors.
Ensure all handset functions are working.
The battery backup feature enables the lift chair to be powered to the raised position (once only) in
the event of a power failure. To enable the battery backup, fit 2 x 9V batteries (not supplied) to the
compartment underneath the power supply. Replace the batteries if the lift chair has been used
during a power failure.

Chair is Inactive
Chair Stuck in Position
Cause
Power Failure
Mechanism Failure
Check the power cord is firmly plugged into
the mains outlet and the control unit; and
check the mains power is switched on.
Remove the power cord from the mains outlet
and let sit for 60 seconds, reconnect power
cord to the mains outlet and switch mains
power back on.
