Battery charger
(See also the chapter ‘Use’).
Warning:
•
Only use the battery charger to charge the Aura
push support 36V Li-ion/Li-Fe rechargeable
battery. Charging batteries other than those
supplied with the Aura push support may
cause explosions and bodily injury.
•
Charging non-rechargeable batteries can
cause explosions.
•
Short circuiting the + and - of the battery
charger’s plug may cause shocks, fire and/or
other accidents.
•
Never charge the Aura push support with
someone sitting in the wheelchair.
•
The operation of the battery charger is
reserved for those who have been able to
fully understand the instructions and safety
precautions.
•
Keep the battery charger out of reach of
children.
•
Never open the battery charger.
•
Servicing must only be performed by certified
service technicians.
•
Do not leave a connected battery charger
unattended, for example, do not charge
overnight.
Be careful:
•
Always connect the charging cable first to the
Aura and then plug the battery charger into
the socket.
•
Stop charging by removing the charging cable
from the socket:
-
if charging is not completed within the
prescribed maximum of 7 hours.
-
if there is an abnormal smell, leaks, or
deformation of the charger, battery or other
parts.
Using the Aura
(see also the chapter ‘Use’).
Warning
:
•
Switch off the push assist if the wheelchair is
left without supervision.
Attention
:
•
It is compulsory in the Netherlands to at least
have WA liability insurance for your electric
push support.*
Slopes and other obstacles
Warning
:
•
Before releasing the parking brakes using the
free-wheel lever, check that the wheelchair
cannot make any unwanted movements.
•
This can lead to dangerous situations, parti-
cularly on slopes. Do not switch to free-wheel
unless strictly necessary. In these kinds of si-
tuations allow the user to step out first and
ensure that there is sufficient help in order to
keep hold of the wheelchair. (See also ‘Using
without push assist’).
Attention:
•
Avoid slopes with a gradient greater than 7°.
•
When going down a slope, always keep your
speed under control.
•
The Aura push assist uses much more
electricity going up a slope than on a flat
surface. This can considerably reduce the
operating range. Pay attention to the battery
indicator in order to prevent unexpected
stoppages.

WA is liability insurance
required by government
legislation. Any damage you
cause to others with your
push support, and for which
you are legally liable, will be
reimbursed. This does not
apply to damage to your
wheelchair that is your own
fault. An insured vehicle is
identified by an insurance
plate at the rear.
