Be careful:
•
Never change the construction of the
wheelchair.
•
Use only original Life & Mobility parts and
accessories. These are tested and safe.
Attention:
•
Directions, safety symbols and instructions
are attached to this wheelchair. They must
not be covered over or removed. They must
remain attached to the wheelchair throughout
its lifespan and be clearly legible.
Assembly and adjustment
Warning:
•
Before using the wheelchair, check that all its
parts are properly mounted and secured.
Attention:
•
Ensure that the armrests, the lower leg length
and the headrest, if applicable, are adjusted
to the correct height.
Sitting in the wheelchair
Warning:
•
Make sure that the occupant’s fingers and
limbs are not trapped between the frame and
the wheels or between the wheels’ spokes.
Always be very careful when:
• The wheelchair is tilted far backwards
• The occupant is sitting lopsided in the
wheelchair.
• The occupant has his/her arms hanging
limp over the armrest.

Safety instructions
Use of the wheelchair
Attention:
•
Set the brake on the wheelchair before
making a transfer.
•
The Cumulix is not intended to carry additional
loads, do not place luggage on, or hang bags
etc. from the push handle or elsewhere. The
balancepoint may change and the wheelchair
can tip over more easily.
•
When using the chair on a slope, the centre of
gravity will change and the wheelchair can tip
over backwards more easily.
•
Accompanying persons must never leave the
wheelchair on a slope without engaging the
brake.
Slopes and other obstacles
Warning:
•
Never drive on a slope at an angle exceeding
5 degrees.
•
Do not drive on slopes when the seat is tilted.
•
When driving up a slope, the centre of gravity
will shift and the wheelchair can tip backwards
more easily than on level surface.
•
When driving down a slope, the centre of
gravity will shift and the occupant can tip
forward.
•
Do not turn around on a steep slope. If the
wheelchair is crosswise on a steep slope, the
risk of tipping is significant.
•
Always go off a pavement or small step on
steps backwards so the wheelchair cannot tip
forward and to prevent the user from falling
out of the chair.
•
Assistants must never leave the wheelchair on
a slope without applying the brakes.
