Important Notice – Safety precautions

Installation and Maintenance.

Do NOT attempt to install or maintain the FlexStep Compact yourself.  This MUST be
done by certified service engineers.

Do NOT remove any protection covers or safety covers as this may cause the FlexStep
Compact to operate unintentionally and may cause personal injury.

Malfunction of the FlexStep Compact.

In case of any malfunction in the movement of the FlexStep Compact or part hereof,
other than described in this manual, immediately stop operating the unit and call for
service assistance.

In case the FlexStep Compact runs unaligned in lift mode the unit must be calibrated by
lowering the FlexStep Compact into lift mode in the lower level.

In case the ramp/roll-off protection does not move as intended, press and release the
emergency stop button and lower the FlexStep Compact to lift mode in lower level.

Movement of the FlexStep Compact.

The clearance underneath the FlexStep Compact must be kept clear of any objects that
could obstruct movement in downward direction at all times. Otherwise the FlexStep
Compact will not be able move to lower level and therefore not operate as a wheelchair
lift.

If an object is obstructing the movement of the FlexStep Compact when moving down-
wards, the FlexStep Compact will immediately stop moving and an acoustic alarm will
sound.  The object must be removed before operation can be continued.

Protection from personal injury.

Do NOT operate the FlexStep Compact from staircase mode to lift mode when someone
or something is on the staircase.

To avoid any personal injury on the user or others it is strictly forbidden to operate the
FlexStep Compact when anyone or anything is in danger of squeezing, falling, tripping
or in any other way getting hurt when the FlexStep Compact is moving. It is the full re-
sponsibility of the user/operator to ensure that any movement of the FlexStep Compact
can be done without hurting or injuring anyone.
Please pay extra attention to children or disabled people that may not foresee the possi-
ble consequences of the movement of the FlexStep Compact.

Overload on the FlexStep:

To prevent overload damage, the FlexStep is supported by a overload safety procedure,
means that if the load on the FlexStep exceeds 250 kg. (evenly spread)  the system
stops and an acoustic alarm will sound. Hereafter it is only possible to operate the sys-
tem downwards.
