photodiode. The photodiode converts the light into current which is
converted to voltage and amplified by the electronics.
The result is a voltage pulse each time a particle crosses the laser beam.
The width of the pulse is proportional to the time it takes the particle to
cross the laser beam and the pulse’s amplitude is proportional to the
size of the particle.
The voltage pulses created by the particles are processed by additional
electronics to quantify the pulses by the size of each particle. The
quantities of the various sized particles are processed and stored in the
sensor’s buffers or transferred via MODBUS.
The RLPC counters were created for continuous, 24 hours per day, 7
days per week operation. The instrument provides versatile mounting
options allowing installation where space is at a premium. The RLPC
integrates seamlessly with many large facility monitoring or
management systems and transfers up to 4 channels of simultaneous
particle count data using the RS485 MODBUS or RS485 MR Protocol
output.
Accessories
Several accessories can be ordered to tailor the instrument to specific
needs. Contact a distributor for additional information and datasheets.
