Cutting Charts
The cutting charts shown on the following pages are intended to give the
operator the best starting point to use when making a cut on a particular material
type and thickness. Small adjustments may have to be made to achieve the best
cut. Also, remember that the arc voltage must be increased as the electrode
wears in order to maintain the correct cutting height.

WARNING
IMPROPER GAS USAGE can cause explosion and/or fire.
•
The combination of Preflow/Postflow, Plasma and Shield input gases should always
adhere to the types specified in the cut charts for a given material type.
•
When changing to a different type of gas (oxidizing or oxygen containing to combustible
or vice versa), a purge of the gas lines (30 second minimum) must be completed to
reduce the risk of fire or explosion.
•
Do not connect H17 (combustible gas) to the gas inputs (Pre/Postflow, Plasma, or
Shield) at the same time as Oxygen or Air.
