Product Overview:
The LBP-UPS-F is an easy to install, Lithium-Ion technology based, standby UPS system. It is designed to continue to deliver regulated, low noise power to any
12–15 VDC powered CPE device (RFoG, RF amplifier, modem, router, wireless, CCTV etc.) during AC power failures.
Protection features include: battery charging and safety management, charge/discharge and over/under temperature monitoring, output overload and
short-circuit protection as well as input over-voltage, surge and reverse polarity protection. Other features include: microprocessor controlled operation,
manual ON/OFF control, and LEDs that provide status as well as visual fault indications. In the OFF condition, the UPS enters into an ultra-low power state to
save energy. The AC power adaptor and the LBP-UPS-F incorporate standard female F connectors for use with coax cables.
Operation:
Under normal operation with AC power applied, the UPS de15 VDC power to the CPE device from the AC power adaptor and at the same time
maintains optimal charge of the internal battery. The Power LED is illuminated
BLUE
to indicate normal AC powering.
When an AC power failure occurs, the UPS d12 VDC battery power to the CPE device with zero transfer time. An
AMBER
LED is illuminated to indicate
backup mode powering. The CPE device will remain powered by the battery until the AC power is restored, at which time the UPS diverts AC converted
DC power back to the device with zero transfer time (the Power LED is again illuminated
BLUE
). The UPS has a typical 8-hour run time with a 400mA load. If
the battery voltage falls below its set minimum value, the UPS shuts down to prevent over-discharge of the battery. A fully discharged battery requires 2 – 3
days for full recharge.
To turn the UPS on, press and hold the ON/OFF pushbutton for more than 2 seconds. To turn the UPS off again, repeat the previous process.
Note: The LBP-UPS-F automatically turns power off to the CPE device when a fault is detected. Power will automatically be restored once the fault condition
is cleared.
Installation:
•
Unpack and inspect the LBP-UPS-F for damage.
• Select a dry, well ventilated mounting location for the LBP-UPS-F.
Ensure that an AC power outlet is within a 1m distance.
• Using a quantity of 2 self-tapping screws (not supplied), mount the UPS using the mounting slots provided on the unit.
• Using the supplied coax cable, connect the AC power adaptor to the LBP-UPS-F IN port. Do not torque the connectors more than 35 in-lbs.
• Using an appropriate length of coax, connect the LBP-UPS-F OUT port to the power port of the CPE device (maximum load = 10W). Do not torque the
connectors more than 35 in-lbs.
•
Always run cables such that they cannot be damaged by being walked on or by objects set on or against them.
• Plug the AC power adaptor into the power outlet. Press and hold the ON/OFF pushbutton for more than 2 seconds. Ensure that the UPS Power LED is
illuminated
BLUE
. The CPE device should now be powered on.
• Remove the AC power adaptor from the power outlet. The UPS Power LED should extinguish and the Battery Mode LED should illuminate
AMBER
. The
CPE device should remain powered.
• Plug the AC power adaptor into the power outlet and ensure that the UPS returns to normal operation.
