Appendix 1: Configuration Check List
Here is a list, in order, of what needs to be done to configure an AERO.100 for use in a typical
television broadcast facility. This check list starts with the assumption that there is already a
connection between an MS Windows PC (or laptop, tablet, etc.) running NfRemote and the
AERO.100. This ilist also assumes the source is SDI.
1.
System > Time > Time Zone. Set Time Zone and select Yes (in pop-up) to reboot.
2.
System > Time > Set Time Manually. Set current date and time.
3.
System > Time > NTP. Click NTP Off (indicator black). Enter NTP server addresses.
Select NTP On.
4.
System > I/O Setup > SDI Embedding. Set SDI embedding On and select audio sources
for each embedded output pair.
5.
If embedding is set to Off, then: System > I/O Setup > Hardware I/O Setup. Set
reference signal

System > I/O Setup > SDI Video Delay. Set to 180 ms if there is no internal Dolby
encoding. Set to 244 ms if Dolby encoding will be done in the AERO.100
7.
Instance 1 > Input > Source. Select the input source for each DRC input pair in Instance
1.

If an AMX5.1 Instance will be used for stereo sources full time, then:
Instance 1 > Input > Input Switches. Select Mute Input 3-6
9.
Output Routing > AES/SDI Outputs > SDI Outputs. Select the DRC or Dolby encoder
outputs that will be embedded in each SDI output channel pair.
10.
Output Routing > AES/SDI Outputs > AES Outputs. Select the DRC outputs that will be
embedded in each AES digital audio output pair.
11.
Instance 1 > UPMAX II Program 1 > Load Preset. If upmixing will be used select a preset.
Instance 1 > UPMAX II Program 1 > Main Settings. Click Upmix Enable.
Instance 1 > UPMAX II Program 1 > Main Settings. Set Automode = Auto for mixed
source content or On if all source content is stereo and it will all be upmixed.
