Chapter 5 Simulation Function
The simulation function performs a transmission/reception test according to the protocol as a communication
partner of the device to be tested when the other device is not prepared at the initial stage of development. The data
registered in the simulation data tables 0 to F can be sent with one touch on the operation panel. For CAN, you can
test the response transmission in combination with the trigger function.
* Only Ch-1 is available for the simulation function of this unit.
* For the details, refer to the online help of the menu bar “Help” “Contents” of the PC software “LE-LINK27R”.
5.1 Simulation Table Setting
Click “Measurement”-> “Measurement setting” on the menu bar, and set the data to be sent to each table 0 to F
of the simulation data table.
■ Simulation data table
A simple list of the settings of each table 0 to F is displayed.
■ Table 0 ~ F
Set the data to be sent to 0 to F (maximum 16) in each table. The data format to be set differs depending on
the protocol (CAN or LIN) set for the Ch-1 interface.
5.2 CAN Table Setting
■ Type
Select the frame type.
Type
Description
DATA
Standard format data frame
EX-DATA
Extended format data frame
REMOTE
Standard format remote frame
EX-REMOTE
Extended format remote frame
■ ID
Set 11 bits (000h to 7FFh) for the standard format and 29 bits (00000000h to 1FFFFFFFh) for the extended
format in HEX.
■ Data(when data frame is selected)
It is displayed when “DATA” or “EX-DATA” is selected. Set up to 8 bytes of data in HEX.
■
DLC
(when remote frame is selected)
It is displayed when “REMOTE” or “EX-DATA” is selected. Set the number of bytes of data to request in
decimal in the range 0-8.
■ Repeat
Set the number of times the frame is sent repeatedly in decimal (0 to 99999). If “0” is set, the transmission
will continue repeatedly.
■ Interval
Set the time interval (in milliseconds) for repeated transmissions in decimal (1 to 99999).
■
Sweep
(when data frame is selected)
It is displayed when “DATA” or “EX-DATA” is selected. Select whether to sweep (change continuously)
the transmission data (ON or OFF).
