Using the EXOTIK with a Linn UNIDISK player
There are certain operational benefits available when using the EXOTIK with a Linn
UNIDISK player. These benefits are as follows:
Standard EXOTIK
●
You are able to use either your EXOTIK’s or UNIDISK player’s handset without
there being a conflict between the two products.
●
You are able to access your UNIDISK player’s setup menus via the UNIDISK
Setup option in the EXOTIK’s Main Menu setup items (i.e. the UNIDISK player’s
setup menus will appear on the display device it is connected to).
DA
●
When a disc is loaded into the UNIDISK player and the UNIDISK is selected as the
source on the DA, the DA will automatically switch to the
required input for the loaded disc.
●
The DA will choose an appropriate surround sound algorithm for the
disc’s audio stream.
●
You are able to use either your DA’s or UNIDISK player’s handset without
there being a conflict between the two products.
●
You are able to access your UNIDISK player’s setup menus via the UNIDISK
Setup option in the DA’s Main Menu setup items (i.e. the UNIDISK
player’s setup menus will appear on the display device it is connected to).

1. Connect-
●
the UNIDISK player’s FRONT A or B, SURR, CENTRE and SUB line output
connectors to the 5.1 GROUP input on the EXOTIK (requires 6 RCA phono-to-
phono leads)
●
the TOSLINK output from the UNIDISK player to the TOSLINK 1 input on the
EXOTIK (requires a Toslink lead)*
Note:
The above connections are the default inputs for adding a UNIDISK player to an
EXOTIK. If you wish to use other inputs on the EXOTIK (e.g. FRONT only, or a
SPDIF input*, make note of the inputs you have chosen and change the UNIDISK
SOURCE menu settings when you reach point 9 below.
2. Connect the video outputs you wish to use from the UNIDISK player to your
display device.
3. Connect the RS232 product-to-product lead (supplied with the EXOTIK) from the
EXOTIK’s RS232 OUT to the UNIDISK player’s RS232 IN.
4. Connect the EXOTIK’s REMOTE OUT to the UNIDISK player’s REMOTE IN (you will
require an RCA phono-to-phono lead).
5. Enter User Options on your UNIDISK player.

6. Exit User Options.
7. Enter the General Setup menu on the EXOTIK.

9. If you are not using the default inputs for a UNIDISK player (ANALOG
GROUP/TOS 1), enter the UNIDISK SOURCE menu on the EXOTIK and change the
ANALOG SOURCE and DIGITAL SOURCE* setting(s) as appropriate (see page 14).
10. Enter the Source Setup menu. Change the source to the input(s) used for the
UNIDISK player and adjust the VOLUME OFFSET and SURROUND CHANNELS
settings as required.
