Notes on the RailSounds sound system
• Use the volume control knob to adjust sound output. Refer to Figure 4 on page 9 or
Figure 5 on page 10. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to adjust the volume level.
Do not force the volume control knob past the point where it will easily turn, or
damage to the volume control will result.
• Listen for incidental locomotive sounds during the operation of the RailSounds sound
system. They’re automatic and, of course, authentic.
• The nine-volt alkaline battery you installed ensures
continuous
sounds, even during short
track-power interruptions. The battery must be installed for the shutdown sequence.
• Longer track-power interruptions (including locomotive derailments) cause the
RailSounds sound system to shut down after about seven seconds.
• For even
more
authentic RailSounds sound system effects, operate your locomotive in the
TrainMaster Command Control environment. See pages 17-22 for details.
• If you adjust the volume using your CAB-1 Remote Controller in the TrainMaster
Command Control environment, the volume settings will be saved and restored after
shutdown. To reset the volume, press
AUX1,0
to reset the locomotive.
