p1 POWER
sends a signal through the circuit.
The fi rst
o25 DC MOTOR
receives that signal and spins at
full speed in one direction.
The signal passes through the motor and on to the
i16 PULSE
. The pulse only lets the signal through in
short bursts.
When the second
o25 DC MOTOR
gets a signal from the
pulse, it spins, but when the pulse switches off , the motor stops.
This switch controls which direction the motor
spins. Changing the direction of the spin will
change how the Doodle Wizard moves.
Your Doodle Wizard’s movement is caused by friction between the
wheels and the drawing surface. The motion of your Doodle Wizard
will change if it is placed on diff erent types of drawing surfaces
(e.g. rough paper, glossy paper, or a whiteboard). You could also
experiment with adding diff erent materials to the face of the wheels
and see how changes in friction change your drawings.
o25 DC MOTOR
a25 WHEEL
The speed dial controls how fast the pulse
flips on and off . Adjusting it will change how
often and how long the second motor spins.
