Assembly instructions | LK Electric Boiler 11-n

Where the pressure or temperature is reduced,

the vessel will be able to handle larger heating

system volumes.

Glycol anti-freeze mixtures reduce the capacity of

the expansion vessel. Contact LK for advice.

Safety valve

The safety valve opens at 2.5 bar. A drainpipe

should be fitted and connected to a waste outlet.

Circulation pump

Delivery setting: Constant pressure curve 1.

If parts of the heating system do not get hot,

this can be changed to Constant pressure curve

2. Selecting a higher curve increases energy con-

sumption and operating costs.

Push but-

ton

LEDs

In operating mode, the first LED lights up green,

and between one and four LEDs light up yellow.

The yellow LEDs indicate the operating capacity

of the pump.

0 - 25 %

25 - 50 %

50 - 75 %

75 - 100 %

Pressing the button displays the pump setting for

2 sec before the pump returns to normal display.

Pipe installation

The electric boiler is mounted indoors, with the

pipe connections at the bottom.

Current building standards and plumbing regu-

lations must be followed during installation.

The space between the floor and the boiler base

must be at least 600 mm to allow electric cartrid-

ges to be replaced.

The connection of the boiler and the heating sys-

tem must be in accordance with the system dia-

gram below.

Ambient room temperature must not exceed

30 ºC.

The boiler is designed for use in sealed systems.

Hard, (calcium-rich) water is not suitable for the

boiler. “Hard” water calcium deposits may da-

mage the boiler; in very hard water areas, water

softeners may be required, check the pH value

is not low – pH7 is neutral. Note: high Chlorine

water treatment levels may damage parts of the

boiler, particularly the heating cartridges.

When connecting external pipe work to the boi-

ler, care must be taken not to bend or damage the

boilers internal pipe work.

Isolation valves must be mounted between the

electric boiler and the heating system to simplify

filling and draining.

All pipe connectors are 1” female.

Expansion vessel

The vessels capacity is 12 litres and is pre-pres-

surised at 1.5 bar, which corresponds to a static

height of 15 metres. At 1.5 bar, the expansion ves-

sel can handle heating system volume of 200 lit-

res, with a boiler temperature of 60 °C.

When supplied, the expansion vessel is pres-

surised at 1.5 bar. This may require adjustment

during installation.
