• You can put different foods in the baskets, but since steam will drip from the upper
basket, make sure their flavours complement each other. When steaming meat and
vegetables, always place the meat in the lowest basket so that juice will not drip onto
the other food.
• Arrange the food with spaces between pieces to allow for maximum steam flow.
• Smaller pieces will cook quicker than larger pieces. For best results, ensure pieces of
food are similar in size. If pieces vary in size then layering is required. Place smaller
pieces on top.
• If you are cooking food with different cooking times, place the food that requires the
longest cooking time in the lowest basket and start cooking it first. When the timer
reaches the setting for the next basket of food, remove the lid using oven gloves or a
cloth, and add the basket to the stack on the power base. Replace the lid.
• The cooking time will vary according to the shape, thickness and composition of the
food.
• Put the largest and thickest pieces of food in the lowest steam basket. Pierce with a
knife or skewer to check that the centre is cooked and the juices run clear.
• Steam leafy, green vegetables for the shortest possible time as they loose colour
easily.
7. Plug the steamer into the mains socket. Set your cooking time by rotating the timer
dial to the desired number of minutes. When steaming, the power indicator will
light up.
8. Check the water level by looking at the water level indicator, if needed, add water via
the water refill point of the water basin.
General Cooking Tips
If the water level in the water tank is too low during operation, the steamer will
turn off automatically, the power indicator will be off. In this case:
1. Unplug the steamer from the mains and allow to cool for a minimum of 4
minutes.
2. Add water via the water refill point, plug the mains back in and resume
cooking.
9. When the timer ends, there will be a single bell ring and the steamer will turn off.
Remove the baskets, using oven gloves to prevent burns. Place the basket on a
plate, as water from the steam will drip from the steam holes. Remove the food
promptly to avoid over-cooking.
10. Unplug the steamer from the mains socket and allow it to cool down completely.
11. Empty the water basin and refill it with fresh water before each use.
